How to Achieve a Transparent Wedding Theme

It’s time for another Project Pretty wedding theme post! These are among our favourite type of blog posts to write as we can really get creative and spill the beans on all of our ideas. This time, we’re taking a look at a unique trend, but one we’re expecting to see plenty more of in the future.
Gone are the days of simply picking a colour scheme to work with. Now, we are seeing an increase in weddings that focus on texture and fabrics just as much as colour. From marble and copper to A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the sky really is the limit when it comes to planning your perfect wedding theme. Today, we’re going to look at the unusual but utterly stylish trend of transparent weddings.
How can I achieve a transparent themed wedding?
When we say transparent, we’re talking all things glass, perspex and delicate. Whilst there’s something ultra-modern about the transparent trend, it can also be really feminine. That’s why we love it so much; it’s a great compromise for couples who just can’t agree on a colour scheme! But in terms of colour for things that simply can’t be transparent, like fabrics and flowers, we recommend going for greys, whites and silvers. Keep it simple and the theme will really stand out.

Of course, your bridesmaids' dresses, cake and tablecloths will have to be a solid colour. But there are plenty of ways you can incorporate the transparent theme into your big day. Furniture is going to play a major part in planning your wedding so make sure you think about this in plenty of time. Clear perspex chairs are relatively easy to get hold of, you’ll be able to find them from event hire companies. Consider using perspex tables and lighting fixtures to really tie the space together!
In terms of venue, we’ve seen a big trend in opting for outdoor venues with greenhouse-style gazebos - these are perfect for the combination of a summer wedding with a transparent theme. It’s definitely worth getting in touch with and visiting several venues to see how they can be styled to suit your theme.

You’ll easily be able to source a clear cake stand. This may seem like a tiny detail, but it’s all in the details when it comes to a successful wedding. Bearing this in mind, you may opt to present your wedding favours in clear perspex gift boxes or see-through envelopes. You can really get creative with this theme and put in as much or as little as you like - from glass candle-holders to sheer heeled shoes for the bridge.
As your guests arrive, you want them to feel part of the theme. Before the reception, they’ll be checking their places at the all-important table plan. Now is probably a great time to mention that we stock some beautiful perspex table plans that can really help you to make a statement!
