How to Achieve a Navy & Gold Themed Wedding
Next up in our wedding theme series is an exquisite and luxurious theme. In today’s blog post, we’re going to discuss Navy & Gold, one of our new favourites. When we were asked to change the original colours of our Grace stationery (berry and gold) to a navy colour scheme, we were more than happy to. But little did we know that we’d love the end result so much that navy and gold Grace stationery is now a permanent fixture in our collection!
Keep reading to find out how you can incorporate this beautiful colour theme into your wedding.

Get inspired with a navy and gold themed wedding
You know that we love our metallic accents here at Project Pretty, especially when contrasting against a dark, striking colour like navy. That’s why this theme is particularly popular with us and we couldn’t wait to write about it. Of course, navy is a highly accessible colour that’s easy to incorporate into any details of your wedding. Not only is it super stylish and classy but it’s also a great option if you’re struggling to agree on a theme with your partner. Who doesn’t like navy?!
How can I incorporate this theme into my wedding?
We’ll start with the obvious: suits and dresses. Your groom, best man, bridesmaids and the rest of the wedding party can adorn gorgeous navy outfits - it’s a flattering colour on everyone so there won’t be too many disagreements (we hope!). If you want to go traditional with a white dress, why not pick navy shoes and jewellery for a nod to your chosen theme?
When it comes to tablecloths, chair coverings and other soft furnishings, you might wish to choose navy options. And of course, don’t forget about the addition of gold for your accents and accessories. Here are some features which we think would look great in gold:
- Cutlery
- Hair accessories and jewellery
- Bunting, garlands or twine
- Straws
- Napkin rings
- Fairy lights or other light displays
- Confetti
- Cake topper and decorations
- Wedding favours
I need more inspiration!
It’s all well and good us giving you our best and ideas. But when it comes to colour schemes, imagery is everything. Here are some of our favourite images if you need a little extra inspiration to get you going:

Nail this theme with the basics
We’ve already discussed the easiest and most effective way to incorporate a navy and gold colour scheme into your wedding. But what about the very basics? Sometimes, we get so caught up in the little details that we forget the bare essentials. Think about your wedding stationery. As we mentioned earlier, our Grace collection is now available in a beautiful navy and gold combination. Organising your stationery early on is going to make your life a whole lot easier down the line! Get in touch with us to see how we can help you. You’ll also need to think about your flowers - will you mix shades of blue for a modern look or stick with a more traditional white and gold? Ultimately, it’s up to you but having an on-theme bouquet will be the cherry on top!
Don’t forget, if you’re really struggling to find a certain accessory or detail in your chosen shades, this colour scheme lends itself very nicely to other pigments. We’ve seen weddings with the following colours work incredibly well alongside navy and gold:
- Burgundy/berry
- Grey
- Peach
- Dusky pink
- Mint
The great thing about this colour combination is that it really does work well with other colours and many aspects of a wedding. From the groom’s suit right down to the table centrepieces, your big day can be coordinated, stylish and most of all… memorable!
